“We’ve been so impressed with Great-West Healthcare. It’s been a real bright spot for our company. I don’t know how many tens of thousands of dollars we’ve saved, but with 160 employees, it’s been significant. Plus, Great-West Healthcare helps us show our valued employees that we care about them.” –Tommy Rocker, President
For 14 years, Tommy Rocker’s restaurants have been serving up award-winning food and live entertainment for Las Vegas locals and visitors. The line of restaurants, all owned by musician-comedian Tommy Rocker, includes three unique establishments – the original Tommy Rocker’s Cantina and Grill just off the Las Vegas Strip, and Tommy Rocker’s Southside Grill and Black Mountain Grill, both in nearby Henderson, Nevada. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Tommy Rocker’s offers a fun, casual atmosphere with live music and comedy acts, including Tommy Rocker himself, as well as televised sporting events and special themed events.
Benefits needs:
- Tommy Rocker’s aims to provide quality benefits to attract and retain valuable employees.
- Under previous providers, benefits costs increased more than 20 percent per year.
- With the economic slowdown, the restaurant chain needed a more affordable benefits plan.
The Great-West Healthcare solution:
- Self-funding allows Tommy Rocker’s to pay only for actual claims, which resulted in a significant decrease in health care costs.
- Great-West Healthcare adds value with an informative Web site, detailed reports and suggestions for ways to bring costs down.
- By educating employees about less expensive options and helping them manage their health, the restaurant chain continues to lower claims levels.
