Are you aware of one of your employees who may be facing a difficult health situation or complex benefit issues? If so, you should know about the Member Champion program from Great-West Healthcare, now part of CIGNA. The program is a standard offering with service as unique as each individualSM, available to your employees covered by Great-West Healthcare.

A champion for

The Member Champion program is designed to proactively reach out and lend a helping hand to the small number of individuals facing an extreme situation, providing extra support during a difficult period. Referrals can come from a variety of sources, including an employee’s manager or supervisor. Once enrolled in the program, Great-West Healthcare members are assigned a single point of contact – the Member Champion – who draws from a team of experts to craft a customized service plan for that employee and his or her family members. Available resources include customer service personnel, registered nurses, financial counselors, social workers and others.

Make a referral,
make a difference |

To date, more than 1,300 members have taken advantage of the program. If you believe one of your employees might benefit from a Member Champion and would like to make a referral, please contact the Member Champion team at 888-760-2824. Please be prepared to provide as much information as possible so the Member Champion Intake Coordinator can research the employee’s eligibility for the program. Also feel free to share this information with your managers and supervisors and encourage them to take part in the referral process.
Because not all referrals are accepted, it’s advised that you receive confirmation of acceptance before communicating with employees regarding their Member Champion status. In the event an employee is not accepted into the program, a Great-West Healthcare representative will still contact that individual to help address their needs.
